How we got to here......

Here’s a little background on us. . .

We have each dealt with weight issues and the commonly accompanying insecurities throughout our lives and have gone through many cycles of restrictive diets (yup, even week-long juice cleanses). Although we came to it at different times, we have both embraced an intuitive approach to eating. No more counting calories!  We trust our senses to let us know how to eat. Neither one of us is the thinnest we’ve ever been now, but we’re happy with ourselves and we stand by the choices we make.

We have also both experienced tendinitis and other aches and pains.  Since then we’ve learned how common these aches and pains are for men and women. While these little and sometimes big annoyances are common, the consensus seems to be that life is simply pain. We disagree! So often, a tiny tweak in form can change everything! Our workout regimens are not about burning out our muscles as much as possible (although that can be fun), they’re about moving and moving WELL.  Once you get the fundamentals down really well, you’ll be amazed at the things you can do! Our goal in movement is two-fold; we want:

  • you to experience pain-free daily living and feel strong for whatever you need to do in your daily life.
  • you free to be up for anything (whether trying a new sport or going on adventures while traveling) and to say yes to fun experiences!

Since neither one of us was athletic or fit in any way growing up (did we forget to mention we’re sisters?), we have a huge heart for women that just don’t know what to do.  There’s so much conflicting information that it can be easy to sink into inaction. Please, don’t do that! We’re here for you! The woman in college who is super stressed figuring out life, the woman who is five months pregnant and wondering if it’s even safe to start exercising now, the woman with four kids and no time to add more things into her schedule, or the woman approaching menopause and nothing seems to work for her like it once did.  We see you all doing your best, and we want to equip you to live out your God-given purpose.

In order to better serve our clients, Leslie has moved her services to another website within the Santé Women’s Fitness family. Check her out at But since we’re sisters, we still get the pleasure of working together on projects.

A little more about each of us:

Core Movement Specialist

Growing up in a house full of boys, I dreamed of one day spending time abroad in a country brimming with European Romance. So after college, I spent a year teaching in France where I developed my appreciation for the Art of Dining and amazing gift that the French have for making every moment special. Even after leaving France and returning to the States. I was able to bring that Frenchness to wherever I lived. Marriage to the love of my life and giving birth to four adorable children (one at a time!) has solidified for me the importance of savoring the moment and relying on God to handle the future. I now live in Texas which has allowed me take up gardening and enjoy not just getting great produce at a great price, but also to discover my love of nature. I adore the fragrance of Jasmine floating on the breeze.

I keep an overall easy-going lifestyle punctuated by teaching yoga fusion classes and spending quality time with my church family. Friday is reserved for family movie night with hubby and our four kids.

I’m not your usual yoga teacher. I’m a Christian so I don’t include the philosophical aspects of yoga. Instead I teach my own blend of yoga, barre, cardio, and strength training with a focus on joint safety. I love to have fun on my yoga mat, so don’t expect to get real serious when you work out with me. I enjoy laughing too much to take exercise seriously!

My philosophy is to never be so busy, that I can’t either stop and smell the roses or help out a friend in need. I LOVE the beach, palm trees, oceans, and bright tropical flowers.

Prenatal and Postpartum Fitness Coach

To best serve our clients, I've moved to a new website!
We still both work under the Santé Women's Fitness umbrella as Santé Women's Coaching and Leslie Uffman Aguilar.

I was a classically trained violinist and spent hours everyday practicing.  Poor posture and movement patterns during practice led to tendinitis in my arm.  I figured if improper movement could cause those problems then quality movement could alleviate them.  So I began a path into corrective and stabilizing exercises that I continue on today.

When I found out I was having a baby, I specifically studied prenatal and postpartum exercise.  I had heard so many stories of physical problems that women had during and after that time, and I wanted to do everything I could to have a physically smooth transition into motherhood.

I love podcasts; I can’t get enough, and I usually listen to 2-3 a day.  I love the medium so much that I started one myself! (You can find that on my website too.)

The workouts each week were great and she was always conscious of where I was ability wise along the way but still pushed me to improve my time and technique. . . She always stressed the importance of listening to your body, which is I think, one of the best things to have in a coach. . . She was always encouraging me! I could not have done it without her! I would recommend her in a heartbeat! Anyone, whether beginner or advanced, can benefit from having a coach, and Leslie is definitely a great one!
